CMA Exam Registration & Certification
The CMA exam consists of two parts, each taken separately at a Prometric test centre. Exam testing windows open three times per year: January/February, May/June, and September/October.
Candidates must be a member of IMA, meet the education requirement (a bachelor's degree or equivalent, or a related professional certification), and complete two continuous years of professional experience in management accounting or financial management within seven years of passing both parts.
- Become an IMA member and apply for the CMA program on the IMA online store.
- Enroll in the CMA program and purchase the exam part(s) you intend to sit.
- Schedule your exam appointment at a Prometric test centre within a valid testing window.
- Pass both Part 1 and Part 2 within the allowed timeframe.
- Meet the two-year continuous professional experience requirement to earn the certification.
