Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)

Overview

The PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) credential, issued by PMI, is the recognised global standard for professionals who apply agile principles and practices. It validates an understanding of agile values, tools and techniques across multiple agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, Lean and XP.

This program prepares candidates for the current PMI-ACP examination, organised around the modern agile domains of Mindset, Leadership, Product, and Delivery, and is suitable for agile team members who are not necessarily project managers.


Course Content

Domain 1: Agile Mindset (28% of the exam)

  • Applying agile and Lean mindset, values, principles and practices
  • Servant leadership, coaching, facilitation and collaboration

Domain 2: Leadership (25% of the exam)

  • Leading and participating in agile teams
  • Influencing without authority and supporting team growth

Domain 3: Product (19% of the exam)

  • Product definition, vision and value
  • Managing scope, backlog and evolving requirements

Domain 4: Delivery (28% of the exam)

  • Planning, building, inspecting and adapting deliverables
  • Quality, cadence, continuous improvement and process adaptation

PMI-ACP Exam Registration & Certification

The PMI-ACP exam consists of 120 multiple-choice questions to be completed in three hours, aligned with the four agile domains above.

Eligibility requires 21 contact hours of agile education, 2,000 hours of general project experience in the last five years, and 1,500 hours working on agile teams or with agile methodologies. Registration is through pmi.org with exams at Pearson VUE.

  1. Complete the 21 contact hours of agile education (covered by this program).
  2. Confirm the agile team experience requirement and apply on pmi.org.
  3. Pay the exam fee (PMI member rates apply) and await approval.
  4. Schedule and sit the 120-question exam at a Pearson VUE centre.
  5. Pass to earn the PMI-ACP credential and maintain it with PDUs.
