Overview

The Certified Islamic Professional Accountant (CIPA) fellowship is awarded by the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI). It is the international benchmark for professionals practising accounting and auditing in the Islamic finance industry.

This program prepares candidates for the CIPA examination program, which is based directly on AAOIFI Shari'ah-compliant standards. CIPA is awarded after passing the examination modules and completing the Practical Experience Requirement (PER), and holders must pay an annual fellowship fee to keep the designation current.

CIPA Exam Registration & Certification

The CIPA fellowship requires candidates to pass the AAOIFI examination program (organized into examination modules) and to complete the Practical Experience Requirement (PER), which confirms the candidate has acquired practical experience in Islamic accounting.

Registration is managed through AAOIFI's website and its authorised examination networks. The fellowship is maintained with an annual fellowship fee and continuing professional development.
